This Wm IV Dining chair had a serious split across it's back rail, previously held together at the back with a large brass plate. Care was taken not to damage the surface which would have resulted in the loss of the attractive pale colour.

The corner of this Regency table had come apart causing damage and losses to it's veneers. Once these had been made good it was repolished and repairs were disguised with pigment in between the layers of shellac.

This extending dining table with 'oversailing' ends needed recolouring and polishing. The base and mechanism restored and the legs extended with additional turnings above the castors.

The later replacement handles on this bureau had caused damage and discolouration. With careful bleaching, 'colouring-out' and other techniques it was possible to restore the drawer fronts and fit the correct period swan-neck handles.

The tops of this Wm IV three pillar table showed signs of 'shed sickness'. However the quality of timber on late 18th Century and early 19th Century tables is superb and remarkably resiliant. They should never be sanded - it is usually possible to bring them back to life without losing the surface patina.

This foot stool which had had some areas of it's original painted surface scraped off, was sympathetically restored using paint mixed with various earth pigments.

This large Victorian oak dining table needed four leaves and a central leg replacing. The customer specified the deep colour to match her set of chairs. The leaves were made from quarter-sawn timber for stability.
